Watch out world!!!

Potatey is SUCH a flirt.. It's going to require some explaining to his potential 'significant other' several years down the road that flirting is in this kiddo's genetic make-up...

He's detoxing at a pretty decent rate, and his lips are a little dry and cracked. So he asked me for some cream to put on his mouth tonite, as his lips were hurting. Unfortunately, the only face cream in his room contains oats .. a no-no, as I now know..

So I asked him "Do you want a kiss from mommy instead to make it better?" Yup, he was willing to try that.. So he pointed to one corner of his mouth, and I planted one on him. Then he said: "That helped a little, mommy, but the other side of my mouth still hurts. That side needs a kiss too." So he got another mommy kiss, on the other side of his mouth. Then the little bugger starts smirking and points to the middle of his mouth and says "To make it all better, I need a kiss there too."

All right, all right, I get it.. I just got suckered into something... But he is so darn cute!!!

(and Goddess help me, he's not even 4 years old!!!)

YESSSSSS!!!

The boyos are watching Arthur the Artvark, and this particular episode is about an out of control kittie named Nemo. One of the characters is babysitting the kittie and is trying all kinds of behavioral strategies to make Nemo 'behave'.

At the end of the episode, Nemo's owner gives a telling clue to Nemo's out of control behavior. "Nemo's allergic to milk", she says, "It makes him cough and act all weird."

Sounds familiar anyone??

IgG food allergies and their neurological manifestations going mainstream???

YES!!!!!!!!!

(and you bet that I'll be sending PBS a thank you e-mail, as soon as I dig up a contact e-mail address.. I'll post it once I find it..)

And then...

Just when we've had a few GOOD days (except for my rather succesful attempt in imitating a Puffer Fish.. yup, major allergy attack..), and I start feeling like I get some solid ground under my feet.....

My [lots of ugly and unrepeatable words) CAR dies!!!! And of course I just let my AAA membership laps (hadn't used roadside assistance in many, many years..and needed to decide between buying supplements and renewing AAA.. the supplements won).

Shit, shit, shit, shit, SHIT!!!!!

(I think the friggid weather did the battery in... so now I'll have to find a neighbourly soul who can give me a jumpstart... And I should probably renew that AAA membership...)

To be continued....

Added on Jan 20th:

Well, the dead car issue turned tremendously complicated (as things have a tendency to do in my life). Car battery was indeed dead as a doorknob, BUT the latch to the hood was broken so I couldn't get to the dead battery to recharge it..

After many complicated twists and turns (you can find the entire convoluted mess on my other blog), the car did get fixed late yesterday afternoon.. at the price of $225... I could have put THAT money to much better use.. Sigh..

Sorry...

for having been away from this blog for a bit. I WILL return, I promise. I am just having waaaay too much fun with my other, non-PC, blog right now.

Boyos are doing OK. Bit of a rough start today, but then they both turned 'a corner'. And with the crazy warm weather today, they both spent most of the day outside. Potatey has a sunburn!!! (60 + degrees in January here in New England - how crazy is that).

Salamander's gross motor skills as well as hand-eye coordination skills are improving by leaps and bounds. He spent a good part of the afternoon throwing rocks into a lake, and he threw those suckers hard, fast, straight and over quite a distance!!! Then later this afternoon, as I was looking out onto our drive way, I saw him SKIPPING around!!! He has never been able to skip before - he just did this silly walk, hop thing. Not this time, he was actually skipping!!!

I am convinced that a lot of his rapid improvements (and I see them not just in the gross motor skills department) have everything to do with having made the switch to Dr. Yasko's genomics based program. Sure, it's also possible that he is simply maturing.. Things have been shifting so fast and so much since end of August 2006 though...too much to be all attributed to Salamander 'growing up'. I am certainly not ditching the genomics based protocol anytime soon...(eventhough it's costing an arm and a leg.. times two... )

Signing off for a bit.... time to get a very tired Salamander ready for bed.

I did it!!!

I am in the process of starting another blog. You WILL need my permission to get on.. I invited a few like minded "crazies" (and I mean that with GREAT LOVE) already. The rest of you will have to ask.. nicely. HA!!!

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!

The attached was sent to me by a dear friend this morning. As the way the message is presented is sooooo very much like me, I decided to put it out here. So here goes!!!

After serious & cautious consideration.....
your contract of friendship has been renewed for the New Year 2007!
It was a very hard decision to make, so try not to screw it up!!!

My Wish for You in 2007
May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts.

May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100ºº bills.

May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips!
May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy.
May the problems you had forget your home address!
In simple words ........
May 2007 be the best year of your life!!
And that about sums it up, ladies and gents. I received a few more 'gems' over the past days, I'll keep them in the bank for when I hit another 'writing dry spell'. And that being said, sorry for not posting any original thoughts today. I have plenty, but not enough time right now to publish them!!
And along that line, I am toying with the idea of starting another blog, but it'll probably be an "R" rated one (so I'll probably make it password restricted, so you gotta beg me for access... oh, the 'control' THAT will give me), as I find that I have lots of not-so-polite stuff that I need to get out. I used to keep a diary (when I was still young and innocent (read: stupid)....), but I just don't have the patience to write on paper anymore... I'll keep you posted if and when I pursue this thought.
Well, signing off for now... Gotta quickly go scarve down some lunch, and then off to pick up Salamander from school.
(oh, and if the formatting comes out all wrong? Sorry... I'll fix it later..)
