What's The Simplest Way..
To Protect Yourself from
colds?
flu?
diarrhea?
Hepatitis A?
SARS?
Wash your hands
Wash your hands
Wash your hands
Wash your hands
[from a little guide that Potatey brought home from school earlier this week. The school nurse even went to each classroom to instruct the kids on proper handwashing .. and then of course Potatey had to instruct us.. LOL]
Very timely, considering the 'fun' ongoing here..
Pretty cool.. and so much better than the 'we can give you a vaccine for that' stuff...

I've got a cold myself; a runny nose and a scratchy throat. I actually bit the bullet yesterday and took some man-made drugs (extra strength Tylenol) because dh is gone and I cannot stop or slow down and take a nap.
We actually caught the honest-to-goodness flu for the first time in years last year. The older two children and I were miserable and sick for a week; I was even 15 weeks pregnant at the time (and GASP, can you believe I SURVIVED the FLU while pregnant; you know how the flu shot is pushed so hard for pregnant women right now or you'll DIE if you don't get it).
What is interesting is my two older children got it worse than my younger two children did and they are my fully vaxed kids (except for the flu). My younger two children who are very minimally vaxed got mild fevers and had diarrhea for a day and that was IT. It was my most heavily vaxed kids who were laid out on the couch achy and miserable and suffering the worst symptoms.
An OT tried in vain to teach Nick to wash his hands for the length of the song Happy Birthday, He just kept saying "It's not my Birthday!" after about a million tries I finally said "Can't we just count to 60??" Duh.
I hope the flu is on it's way out of there. But, not on it's way here!
